Raising a dog can feel like a full-time job. I get it. It can be overwhelming at times. I know how much you love your dog, but I also know how time-consuming training tasks can be. Whether you're working on general life skills or a specific behavior goal, let a certified professional carry part of the load.
During a behavior board & train program, I teach foundations designed to help you progress toward your overall goals. Your dog will live with me in my home, learn specific skills, receive individual care as the only guest, and enjoy unlimited cuddles. Programs are tailored for your dog and goals. Examples are:

Beginning leash walking skills

Skills for leash reactivity on walks

Recall for emergencies or contexts

Basic life skills such as name, sit, down, stay, leave it

​Skills for reducing jumping to greet

Targeting and relaxing on a bed or mat

Impulse control during fetch and tug

Resource guarding chews, toys, household items, or resting locations
Behavior board & train programs are only for teaching foundational skills to help jump start your training goals. Ongoing management and training efforts in your own environment remain essential after any board & train program.
HOW IT WORKS
Eligibility
✔︎ Must happily interact with me
✔︎ Must be comfortable alone for 2-3 hours
✔︎ Must reside in your home for at least one month if new to your family
✔︎ Additional requirements determined on a case-by-case basis

Behavior Board & Train Assessment
After you complete the request form below, I'll get in touch about booking the one-hour assessment and planning meeting at my home (located in 60646). During this meeting, your dog will have an opportunity to build positive associations with me while you and I discuss your training goals, your dog's history, and my plan for training. We'll decide together if it's a good fit, and if so, book the board & train program!

Behavior Board & Train Program
Your dog will live in my home, be cared for like family, and have a blast while learning! Each program includes structured training sessions, informal training in everyday life, play and other enrichment opportunities, purposeful rest breaks, and unlimited cuddles. I'll send regular updates with photos or videos throughout the program.

​Transfer Session
When you pick your dog up on the last day of the program, I'll hand-off the new skills to you and teach you how to maintain them going forward. You'll also get written and/or video instructions. This transfer session at pick-up is approximately 45 minutes. We'll also discuss future training sessions, if you need them to continue your progress after the board & train program.

Behavior board & train programs are not intended for dogs struggling with fear or aggression toward visitors in the home or unfamiliar people in general. For assistance with those behaviors, a Behavior Consultation is the appropriate service.
